Bargaining Update: Steady Progress and Looking Ahead
The AUFA and AU bargaining teams met for two full-day sessions on May 26 and 28, and we’re pleased to report that progress continues to be made at the table.
What’s Been Achieved
We’re happy to share that two Letters of Agreement have been signed off:
Support Person: A positive step toward ensuring members have the support they need during key processes.
Heritage Resource Management Undergraduate Intern: Renewal of the agreement already in place.
These agreements reflect our shared commitment to moving forward on items that matter to our members and the broader university community.
Upcoming Bargaining Dates
We’ve also successfully scheduled two additional bargaining dates in July and two more in early September. These sessions will be important opportunities to continue building on the momentum we’ve established.
Monetary Items – Still to Come
At this stage, there has been limited engagement on monetary issues such as:
Market supplements
Health benefits
Professional development fund
Bargaining - Incoming Survey
The AUFA bargaining team will circulate a full survey to the membership over potential changes to our benefits plan, our monetary proposal, and other open items at bargaining. Look for this in the coming weeks.
