The AUFA executive have proudly voted to endorse Susan Cake for President of the Alberta Federation of Labour.

Susan’s platform emphasizes directly empowering working Albertans. Only through organizing and on-the-ground solidarity can we hope to not just resist but make gains in a provincial climate of permanent austerity, casualization of work, and suppression of wages and benefits. Her vision for Albertan workers is one of democracy, action, and accountable leadership. What matters more than ever is not what union executives say, or what kind of media coverage we get, but what union members do.

We are also delighted to endorse a member of the Athabasca University community, as Susan is currently a tutor in Human Resources and Labour Relations.
